SFC Michael Gary
My name is SFC Michael Gary (retired). I served with the Louisiana National Guard for 25.5 years. I did one tour in Iraq where I was struck by an IED. I have lost a lot of hearing, had to have neck and back surgery as well as TBI (traumatic brain injury) for which I have received a purple heart.
I am married and have two beautiful daughters and four grandkids, and now a wonderful friend Terry, who is giving me this amazing dog, Hopps.

Officer Sheena Yarbrough-Powel, AKA "Hopps", is named after a fallen police officer from Texas who was tragically was killed in the line of duty. Her nickname was Hopps and she was loved by all. With the family's permission, she will live on in this adorable and spunky black lab. If you would like to read more about her namesake you can check it out HERE.
